Toning prints in selenium — ventilation question Want to start selenium toning for the archival benefit and the subtle colour shift. The smell is putting me off doing it in the shared space though. How are people handling ventilation?
We do toning in the back room with the extractor on and the door propped. Dilute 1+20 it's really not bad. Just don't do it next to someone printing.
Wear nitrile gloves and you'll be fine. The archival permanence alone is worth it for anything you actually care about.
Book the back room on the calendar so nobody walks in mid-tone. We added a slot for exactly this.
